How to use Debian NewbieDOC
NewbieDOC is a self-help community for newcomers ("newbies") to Debian GNU/Linux. Debian is a Free replacement for operating systems like Windows and MacOS and their applications. This is the place for Debian beginners, and others, to share their experience of Debian in the form of "docs": articles (HOWTOs, tutorials, guides, hints, tips), FAQs, questions, and answers. All Debian NewbieDOC docs are Free documentation
This is a wiki. You can
- browse docs (HOWTOs, tutorials, guides, hints, tips), FAQs and questions and answers,
- ask questions about Debian,
- answer questions about Debian,
- create new docs,
- edit and improve existing docs (edit tab), except for certain "stable" docs, and
- add comments to any doc (discussion tab) including stable docs.
Any changes you make to Debian NewbieDOC docs will not destroy the originals - they are still available from the history tab. If you would like a little practice first, try the sandbox - click on the "edit" tab to get started.
You can get a better experience by creating an account and logging in first. You can then sign and date your contributions, watch for changes, ]set up email notification of changes to docs, etc.
