How to ask questions on the NewbieDOC wiki.
1 Add your question to the Questions page
- It is useful to register and set your email preferences. You probably want to tick '
Send me an email when my user talk page is changed' so that others can send you off-topic messages using your signature link. - Go to the Questions page.
- Follow the new question link.
- Add a short, title to the Subject/headline box. The first word in the title may be used for indexing, so choose a meaningful word. For example, a question about a printer might start with the word 'Printer':

- Describe your problem on the main box. Give as much detail as possible. Indent code, commands and console messages using one space so that they are rendered in a box.
- Add your signature (--~~~~) and save the page.

- Monitor the Questions page for answers by clicking on the watch tab.
2 Respond to suggestions
- Check the page regularly for suggestions and requests for clarification. An easy way to do this is to click on the my watchlist tab, find the entry for the Questions page and follow the hist link. Look for your question title and the
<updatedmarker>.

- Respond to queries: view your question on the Questions page and edit it using the edit tab on the right-hand side of the question title.
- Save the page.
3 Report the correct answer
- When you have a working solution to your problem, view your question on the Questions page and edit it using the edit tab on the right-hand side of the question title.
- add the heading
=== Solved ===at the end of the section, add the answer and put your signature (--~~~~) underneath.

- Save the page.
